Kapawi Lodge

Kapawi Eco Lodge & Reserve is located at the depth of about 700,000 hectares in the Achuar territory near the junction of the Pastaza and Capahuari rivers – the first is a major tributary and the second is a minor tributary of the Amazon River near the border between Ecuador and Peru.

Located in the territorial lands of an indigenous nation (7,000 people in 64 communities) which is still alive as they have for generations an intimate harmony with nature, Kapawi offers guests a wide range of cultural experiences that are undoubtedly unmatched by any other lodge in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Kapawi LodgeROOMS

The water level in the lagoon varies across seasons and provides the perfect setting for your stay.

The Lodge capacity is 44 guests and it was built according to the Achuar architectural concept. We offer 19 double and triple rooms with private bathroom and hot shower and electricity provided by a solar panel system. Each room has a spacious terrace. Something you shouldn’t forget while your stay in Kapawi, it is the fact that you are in the “jungle”. Insects are the most numerous life form in this habitat, and although the facilities are protected in walls and floor, you might find some unwanted “guests” in your room.
