We have prepared for you a selection of haciendas and lodging houses of the Sierra, but first, do not you want to know everything there is to see and do?
The natural wealth of Ecuador has his real axis in La Sierra. And this is because the Andes are one of the geological wonders of the world, and across Ecuador you may find some of his most impressive volcanoes (some, like Chimborazo, over 6000 m altitude), which take amazing views from anywhere in the country. But it takes much more.
You will have the opportunity to visit national parks such as El Cajas National Park (riddled with interconnected lakes), Cotopaxi and Sangay (among others), and discover its varied climate, vegetation, its typical wildlife with ocelot, spectacled bears, tapirs of Los Andes, the llama or the condor for example, and spectacular waterfalls.
It is also a region in which the observation and its wonders are not separated from the cultural and recreational entertainment: traditional and gastronomical fairs, or adventure sports, are just some of the activities you can do throughout the Sierra.
And of course there are the cities of La Sierra environment, which you can visit during your trip, and which suppose an authentic experience in itself: Quito, with its historical centre, Cuenca, the university campus, or the curious city called Middle of the World, where you will be able to cross from the southern hemisphere to the northern one, and vice versa, with a simple step.
La Sierra means, in short, the tourist hub of Ecuador. For this reason, there is a wide range of accommodations, also in the rural areas, with farms and lodging houses on the Sierra where you can enjoy nature, practise adventure sports, or simply use it as a base to visit the surrounding area.
